Best solution is to quit GW and not buy GW2. Anet gave up on their players so why not just give up on them?

I think we might as well just accept that Guild Wars isn't really about tactical play or skill and is more about title grind and loot farming. Too bad Anet went with the common denominator rather than continuing with a unique game idea, but c'est la vie.
Fully agree.
The main reason to enter those areas is income and cookie cutter is a way to ensure a fair rate of success in a certain time.
Yesterday someone in the guild complained that his Foundry+Gloom HM took 1 hour or so...
Before UB someone would probably not even complain when one area took that long.

As long as players keep playing for titles and cash, cookie cutter builds are here to stay.

While I don't like the UB type of game, it's one of the few ways that gives all professions a fair chance to experience the full PvE game without relying on guild/alliance.

Default Ursan FTW

I consider Ursan Blessing a blessing. It has allowed my main character, a ranger, to finally obtain a DOA monument. To me it is another build I can play. The +armor and +health and frontline skills make it ideal for a backline character to be able to stand a chance frontline with monks.

In 6 man vanquishing with just heroes/henchmen, me being a ranger, I can't rely on a warrior henchmen to maintain aggro OR not overaggro. Ursan blessing allows my ranger to take a frontline position, thus taking the initial aggro/damage for my team instead of my casters in the backline. I wouldn't use Ursan blessing in a 8 man team of H/H for vanquishing, but it proves very useful in areas short of a frontliner.

Now, Ursan Blessing may have skills that may be overpowered, but that is the ticket Anet has for EOTN. It is a smart marketing decision to keep it that way. People may be left out without Ursan Blessing, which makes some people jealous and want to buy EOTN so that they have a role in groups. Ursan Blessing has the same boundaries as B/P groups, except that Ursan Blessing groups are more strict on those boundaries.

I do not want Ursan Blessing to change, as it is a good alternative in builds I can play. I'll keep my avatar the way it is for now.

i think the horse is a messy pulp now

Honestly, you think nerfing ursan is going to help? PUGS will just find another way to be "easy/cheap". Leave ursan out of this...I never use it...but at least it gives the average pug to be able to get past the first section of doa mission.

No pugs wont find another way to easy/cheap. before ursan pugs were shit like they're level of play skill warranted. Now they are far more powerfu; than their experience or skill in the game warrants.

Somehow i can feel CareBear thing getting new meaning... people lame enough to use bear.

---

Yes, people will find another cookie in place of bear, but it would be noticeably weaker and thus more prohibitive to bad players to get stuff done.

Ursan isn't that good. It creates a nice tank but you still need a balanced team with interrupters, healers, etc.

And the only negative side of Ursan I see: Where is the bear animation??

That's the thing. It rewards you for playing with tactical mistakes. Using warriors to maintain aggro, ranger in the frontline, evident lack of passive defense to keep team mid/backline functional, etc. In a sense, it's a crutch. While I appreciate that it lets newer or weaker players experience the game more easily, the entire purpose of Hard Mode was to be something for the experienced players.

Bah. The only thing that it nees is to remove the Profession benefits.

Warriors tanks with Ursan because they can go with 100AL.

Make them work like BMP disguises, the Siege Devourer or the Junundu and done, giving them 60AL regardless of profession, 20..60 energy regardless of profession and equipment, 500..700 HP regardless of profession and equipment, and so on.

Same for Wolven and Raven.

Ursanway allows more players to access elite areas.

I find that to be a great thing.

Maybe. But if that's the case then it's not working on me. I've yet to get EotN, and Ursan isn't in any way enticing me to go buy it.

BooHoo.....

I see everyone's point about Ursan but I'm glad its in the game it does provide a counter to stupid cookie cutter builds and it can shave hours off some hard mode dungeons in eotn. My biggest peeve with Guild Wars now is that some areas such as hard mode dungeon and vanquishing large areas can take up to 4 hours in a single sitting 4 HOURS!. No game should have that with out some sort of save system. Whack on Ursan and and look done it in 2 hours or less, more time to do something else with rather than wasting it killing overpowered mobs.
